Biography

Jessica Alba was born on April 28, 1981 to her parents Catherine Jensen Alba and Mark Alba. A unique actress, Alba is of mixed descent: her mother is of Danish lineage and her father is a Mexican-American. She was born in Pomona, California, but given her father�s air force career, she lived in many places, ranging from Mississippi to Texas. She began acting at a young age and has gradually turned herself into a Hollywood heart-throb (earning herself the title of �Most Desirable Woman� and routinely topping the various FHM, Maxim, etc. �Hot 100� lists).

Alba�s childhood was unfortunately marred by many physical ailments. On two separate occasions Jessica suffered collapsed lungs. Routinely, she would get pneumonia four to five times a year. Once, she ruptured her appendix. Also, an incident occurred in which cysts were found on her tonsils. These maladies, coupled with the fact that her family was constantly on the move meant that Alba had a sheltered childhood. As a result, she has very few friends from this time of her life. To top all of this off, Jessica used to suffer from obsessive compulsive disorder. However, once her family moved back to California, all of the baggage disappeared and Alba began to pursue an acting career.

There is no limit to how popular, and how beautiful, Jessica Alba can continue to become in the following years. This summer, she will star alongside Mike Meyers (in his first live-action film since The Cat in the Hat) in the comedy The Love Guru. Given the pedigree of both Alba and Meyers (and considering the fact that many are touting this film as the spiritual successor to the Austin Powers franchise), this film is a stone cold, lead pipe lock to become a massive box office smash. She will also star in less publicized 2008 films: Meet Bill and The Eye.

While there is almost a sure-fire chance that Alba will be scheduling more projects to be released in 2009, her only current film slated for next year is the sequel to Sin City. Alba will reprise her role as Nancy Callahan in the film. Even if it is her only project, the movie itself will almost assuredly be a big time hit. After 2009, who knows what is on the horizon for Ms. Alba? She possesses killer looks and has the talent and charm to continue to dominate the pop culture landscape. Look for her to be a household name in the years to come.
